IPDCEC is an international chemical plant design competition organized by the Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Malikussaleh. This competition challenges students to design comprehensive, safe, efficient, and sustainable chemical plants.
Open to active students from Chemical Engineering and other majors from universities around the world, as long as they can follow the official guidebook requirements and required report format.
Participants from non-Chemical Engineering departments are welcome, provided they are able to prepare the plant design report according to the scope, structure, and standards requested in the official guidebook.

IPDCEC 2026 is hosted by Universitas Malikussaleh through the Chemical Engineering academic environment, supporting students in process design, simulation, innovation, and sustainable chemical industry development.
Universitas Malikussaleh is a public university in Aceh, Indonesia, with academic activities centered across campuses including Reuleut, Bukit Indah, and Lhokseumawe. As the host institution, Universitas Malikussaleh provides an academic environment that connects engineering education, local industrial context, research, and community development.
The IPDCEC 2026 final stage will be held in the Universitas Malikussaleh academic environment in Lhokseumawe, Aceh, giving participants the opportunity to experience both chemical engineering learning and the local culture of Aceh.
The Chemical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Malikussaleh prepares students with competencies in industrial process design, process simulation, sustainable production, energy, safety, environmental responsibility, and chemical plant engineering.
Program Studi Teknik Kimia Universitas Malikussaleh has obtained the “Unggul” accreditation rank from LAM Teknik based on SK No. 0109/SK/LAM Teknik/AS/IV/2026. The accreditation status is valid from 21 April 2026 to 20 April 2031.
This accreditation strengthens the academic credibility of the host program and supports IPDCEC 2026 as an international competition focused on plant design, process innovation, sustainability, and professional chemical engineering standards.

Rangkaian Final Competition IPDCEC 2026 akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 30 Juli – 1 Agustus 2026. Informasi berikut disampaikan agar seluruh tim finalis dapat mempersiapkan kehadiran, agenda, dan kebutuhan masing-masing dengan baik.
Kegiatan final dilaksanakan secara offline dengan agenda presentasi final, field trip opsional, serta pengumuman pemenang dan penyerahan hadiah.
Kegiatan field trip bersifat opsional bagi peserta finalis. Peserta dapat memilih untuk mengikuti maupun tidak mengikuti kegiatan tersebut.
Panitia juga membuka kesempatan bagi peserta untuk mendiskusikan atau menyepakati destinasi field trip yang ingin dikunjungi, dengan mempertimbangkan ketersediaan waktu, lokasi, dan koordinasi bersama panitia.

The Chemical Engineering Study Program of Universitas Malikussaleh has continuously developed academic competition activities and achievements in plant design engineering.
Before organizing IPDCEC 2026 as an international competition, the Chemical Engineering Study Program of Universitas Malikussaleh had already organized Plant Design Competition activities at the national level involving students from universities across Indonesia.
In 2025, the Chemical Engineering Study Program of Universitas Malikussaleh achieved 1st Place in the national Chemical Plant Design Competition (CPSC) organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universitas Riau (UNRI), demonstrating strong academic capability and competitiveness in plant design engineering.
Outstanding teams will receive medals, trophies, certificates, and recognition during the official IPDCEC 2026 awarding ceremony.
